White Dove
41 x 51 x 14,5 cm
Digital print on laser-cut, anodised aluminium, steel
This candelabrum depicts a white dove bearing an olive branch in its beak, symbolising the struggle for peace ever since Israel was founded. It is made from anodised aluminium: the dove’s feet rest on a platform, and the lights are arranged along a metal support using a magnet. The shamash is set apart at the far end of this support, and is raised a little higher than the other candles. The symbols alluded to here centre on the association of light with peace. With the lighting of the lamp, during the Festival of Lights, our dreams are also illuminated.
