Painted wood
This piece is composed of two parts. The front section comprises a rectangular, painted-wood support on which the nine candle cups are located. More significant is the back, an upright triangle with a golden circle inscribed in the centre. The three-pointed segments that are produced by this subdivision are themselves divided into two halves, which are painted in the colours of the solar spectrum: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and indigo. It is easy to discern the position reserved, on the rectangular base, for the shamash. It sits at the far right of the panel, set further back in relation to the other eight lights.
