Newsprint, newsprint reel cores
The work consists of a base of acid-treated steel, on which nine cardboard cylinders are aligned, standing upright. They are the cores from reels of newsprint – donated by the printers of Milan’s Corriere della Sera. On eight of them, the remaining unprinted paper has been manipulated, and layered. The middle cylinder, made with coloured, printed newsprint, represents the shamash. At its foot, the word Shalom is composed in movable type and fixed to the structure.
