Wood, tempera paint, plastic elements
The work is designed to resemble an artist’s colour palette. The base consists of a thin sheet of dark wood on which a few light brushstrokes have been made in red, yellow and blue tempera paint. Round the edge there are eight white candles set in flower candle holders. Stronger, bigger brushstrokes have been made near each candle, using bolder colours, each different from the others. Towards the centre of the base is a brush, fixed to the structure through a steel hook, that bears the ninth candle, the shamash.
