The nine elements that make up the artwork were made with white clay. The elements are in the shape of a lotus leaf, as a tribute to the vegetation of the lakes of Mantua, the artist’s place of origin. They were made in progressively increasing sizes, arranged one inside the other – from the largest to the smallest – to form a flower or placed side by side – from the largest to the smallest – to house the candles.
