The hanukkiah is a sort of architectural structure which recalls a suspended city. The shamash is the highest and differs from the other lights only for the colour of its candle. The artwork is characterized by a formal lightness that ideally projects it upwards and an iridescent colour that reflects light, amplifying the effect of delicate sturdiness. The upward movement unites the hanukkiah with the fire of the candle as if inviting the viewer to rise spiritually.
