The hanukkiah is in the form of a toy piano, one octave, with eight white keys, on each the author has placed a candle of a different color, and in succession they return a rainbow, the shamash is placed on the body of the piano. The small piano is a playful but also metaphorical object, investigating the essence of a sacred and ritual lamp, it recalls the singing of religious melodies, an expression of local tradition and identity, their being learned and transmitted mi dor le dor (from generation to generation in Hebrew) as a public but also private, familial memory of the festival as well as the great contribution of Jewish authors to the history of music. The rainbow is the bearer of peace, the peace between men and the peace agreed upon after the universal flood with God.
