Wood, iron wire and mixed media

The work is designed to represent one big central flame made of wood and covered in fine bright red lines. The whole of the tall column is wrapped in barbed wire. The ninth light, the shamash, is hidden among the pieces of wood at the top and wax from this candle has dripped onto the barbed wire. Small lengths of wood covered in fine red lines are arranged obliquely in a crisscross pattern on the base to represent the eight lights.
