Bread, steel needles and wax
The base of the lamp is a loaf of unleavened bread into which nine needles holding burnt candle ends have been stuck. The work takes inspiration, by contrast, from the bread of Pesach: “From the unleavened bread, which represents hardship and is also a reminder of our origins, through the needles symbolising the ordeals of the past, to the light that we find in the end”.
