Painted wood
The work, made of painted wood, features two plain white beams, slightly curved to create a structure resembling the proscenium and stage of a theatre. The candles arranged along the entire length of the front beam symbolise the actors. On a small platform, facing the audience, is the ninth light, the shamash, a solitary golden spot amidst the absolute whiteness of the structure.
