According to Robert Fludd’s theory, the first moment of creation is “an act of light,” a luminous circle that originates from darkness. The idea of realizing the Sphere of Light was based on this hypothesis. The sphere is entirely covered with small pieces of cardboard, painted with acrylics, inks, and gold leaf. The plywood base is also covered with the same pieces and is designed to house the eight candles following a free pattern. The shamash is placed on top of the sphere and, therefore, of the entire sculpture.
