A play on the study of the shamash, camouflaged by the reflections of the matroneum and the wrought iron of the Aron, due to the refined artificial light and the shape of the lamp. The photography portrays a lit, metal hannukiah, ornate and retro. It is placed on a bimah, or prayer table, in the synagogue of Casale Monferrato. The illuminated candles, some lit lamps, and the shadows of the matroneum create a play of lights and reflections in the synagogue at night. The shamash stands, camouflaged, on the Arón ha-Kodesh.
